The Question: “How fast can someone ramp up their skill set in Digital Marketing to start seeing profitable, sustainable revenue come in consistently?”
Great question with a multi-faceted answer that I’m going to try to break down for you.
How long will it take you to ramp up your skill set?
This depends on where you’re starting from. I would put people in a continuum like this:
- Absolutely NO tech skills (expect 6-12 months at a minimum).
- Knows how to do social media, maybe set up a blog, and can play around in Canva (expect 4-6 months).
- Has designed WordPress websites OR has done landing pages or webinars or copywriting already (expect 3-4 months).
- Fluent in tech and can pick up new systems quickly and easily (expect immediate to 4 months).
If you are a #’s 2-4, the news is good.
If you double down and focus, your skill set will look nothing like it did – in the next three/four months.
Within six months, with consistent marketing and referrals, you should be doing double what you’re doing now.
Every person I coached 1:1 exploded in growth because they had some serious skin in the game (aka thousands of dollars and a limited time to talk to me).
It worked.
It worked because I am a good teacher, I pushed them to practice on real clients and real people and on themselves, and they took it seriously because there was a sizable investment riding on the whole thing.
#2’s are going to need a bit more time because they will have to learn the STRATEGY PLUS the TOOLS.
#3’s and #4’s are going to spend most of their time learning STRATEGY, and then their natural ability for tech and tools will help them go that next step.
If you are a #1, you can still do this, but it is a longterm investment.
It is not a “Hey I’ll take TDG and then I’ll be making $5000 in 8 weeks.” No. Anyone can learn and you can most definitely use TDG to learn exactly what you need to know, but give yourself time to practice practice practice.
Almost all my private coaching clients saw a significant difference within four to six months.
But keep this in mind. They all were willing to do the work, put in the time, remain “coachable” with their mindset, and make the investment in their own education through the tools, programs, and my expertise.
